arc Shopping Centre announces local charity, Still Good Food, as its charity of the year for 2025/26!
arc Shopping Centre in Bury St Edmunds has announced local charity Still Good Food as its charity of the year for 2025-26. The shopping centre will begin its partnership with Still Good Food from 1st April 2025, supporting Still Good Food to help raise vital funds and awareness of their services.
Still Good Food helps to reduce the huge amounts of food that is thrown away every day by redistributing surplus food through their shops in Bury St Edmunds and Great Barton on a ‘pay as you feel’ donation basis.
Through their hard work, they not only aim to reduce the amount of food waste, but also provide good, nutritional, low-cost food to the community. They educate people on the differences between the ‘Best Before Date’ and the ‘Use By Date’ helping them make more informed and better decisions about what food is still good to eat.
arc will support Still Good Food through fundraising at various events throughout the year, including their popular ‘A Bury Beautiful World’ workshops.
Centre Manager Allan Hassell said: ‘We are thrilled to be supporting Still Good Food as our charity partner for 2025-2026. Still Good Food provides valuable support to our community to help reduce food waste as well as help those families and individuals in the area struggling with rising food costs. We have had a successful year supporting the marvellous charity Bury St Edmunds Rickshaw, and we’re delighted that we can help shine the spotlight and raise awareness of another fantastic local charity.’
Kerrie Stewart, Operations Manager at Still Good Food, said: ‘We are really excited to have this opportunity to raise awareness of our wonderful charity, hopefully raise vital funds, reach out to new suppliers, customers and volunteers, and continue to educate people about food waste.’
