Since the departure of Debenhams in May 2021, the flagship unit of arc Shopping Centre has stood empty with much anticipation amongst the community as to what will be coming to the unit next. arc Shopping Centre and CBRE Investment Management are pleased to announce that well known retailer Primark is now confirmed to be moving into the unit.
Primark is a leading international retailer, employing more than 70,000 colleagues in 14 countries. Their 33,000 sq ft new store at arc Shopping Centre will create around 90 jobs for the town of Bury St Edmunds, as well as bringing customers its much loved great value clothing, beauty and homewares. Since 2019, a social media group called ‘Primark for Bury St Edmunds’ has been running on Facebook with many people hoping for the retailer to join the town, one member commenting “If this happens it would be fantastic news for all customers that can’t afford highly priced clothing, especially with all the bill rises going on” and “I would love Primark to come to Bury St Edmunds it would be good for Bury and all concerned please please make this happen guys” another member commented.
Primark will be located on the top two floors of the flagship store with the basement floor reserved for another exciting addition to arc Shopping Centre.
