Primark confirms opening date for new Bury St Edmunds store

Primark will officially open the doors to its much-anticipated store in Bury St Edmunds at arc shopping park at 10am on Wednesday March 6th with a live DJ to welcome shoppers through the door.

Primark Bury St Edmunds will be a 33,300 sq. ft store and will offer customers a great in-store experience spanning two floors. Shoppers can look forward to shopping the affordable products they know and love across adults and kids clothing, beauty, lifestyle and homeware. The store will also offer self-checkouts as part of Primark’s trial of the service giving customers a quick and easy option, especially if they are purchasing fewer items.

Philippa Nibbs, Primark Director of Sales UK, London and the South East, said: “Since we first announced plans to open the store it’s been great to see such a positive reaction from the local community and we’re thrilled to confirm the date we will be opening the doors to the people of Bury St Edmunds. We’ve welcomed more than 100 new retail colleagues to our team as part of the opening and we’re looking forward to becoming a part of the community.”

Local customers looking to get their next Primark fix in the meantime can continue to shop for the latest products and trends at its nearby Ipswich and Cambridge stores. Customers can also use Primark’s online stock checker to check availability on their favourite styles before heading in-store.

The new Primark in Bury St Edmunds is set to be Primark’s 193rd store in the UK and will be the first store to open since Salisbury, which opened in September last year. The new store forms part of the retailer’s £100m investment in its UK store estate this calendar year, as it celebrates 50 years of Primark on the Great British High Street. In 2024, Primark will increase its selling space to almost 8 million sq. ft of total shopping space, add nearly 700 new colleagues and reach 195 stores across the UK.
